Early Intervention Services
Early childhood intervention services are programs designed to support the development and well-being of young children who are at risk for, or who have, developmental delays or disabilities. These services aim to address and mitigate challenges early in a child’s life, promoting their growth and helping them reach their full potential.
A “Help Me Grow” referral is part of a nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring young children receive early intervention services if they are at risk of or show signs of developmental delays or disabilities. The program is designed to connect families with resources and services that support the healthy development of their children from birth to age 5. Children age birth to 3 are eligible for the services one of three ways; a delay in one or more area of development (thinking, moving, talking, self help, and social emotional), a condition or diagnosis known to hinder development, or a family need identified by the team. If a child is found ineligible for Early Intervention supports, other community partners are offered to families.
When your child enters ECSE programming, a team of teachers and therapists are available to work with your child in a way that is tailored to your child’s individual needs. The “Help Me Grow” referral system plays a crucial role in identifying and supporting children with developmental needs, ensuring they receive the assistance and resources necessary to thrive. One of River Bend’s missions is to help families find intervention services early due to decades of rigorous research that show that high quality intervention programs for infants and toddlers can reduce the incidence of future problems in their learning, behavior, and overall health.
